Rain days are the days with at least 1 mm of rain, as a weather station counts them.

Weather read at Rodney Bay, 39 km from the airport (UVF): ten years of ERA5 and ERA5-Land reanalysis, through Open-Meteo's open data.

A busy month is a crowded one, not a bad one — usually it is crowded because the weather is good. It is flagged rather than scored down, and crowds alone never make a month “avoid”: that is reserved for weather worth skipping.

How busy it gets

Busiest in December and January; quietest in April and September.

Being there

On arrival

  • Paying — US dollars are widely accepted alongside Eastern Caribbean dollars, most hotels, restaurants and attractions take major cards, and ATMs are widely available. Carry some cash, in small notes, for markets, small vendors and taxis.
  • UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
  • Tipping — About 10-12% is customary, and taxi drivers, tour guides, spa staff and hotel porters accept tips; hotel and restaurant bills can also carry a 10% service charge and 10% VAT, so check whether the price includes them.

Getting around Saint Lucia

Minibuses, with green plates and an M prefix, charge EC$2.50 to EC$8.00 depending on the route; route 1A runs between Castries and Gros Islet. Flights from Europe and North America land at Hewanorra (UVF), about 1 hour 30 minutes from the north of the island.

  • Apps — Rides: Allez, Uber. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Messages: WhatsApp. Uber has booked licensed taxis since January 2026, though the government called it illegal in February and told it to suspend; street taxis (light blue TX plates) have no meters, so confirm the fare before you set off.

The main way for tourists to get around Saint Lucia is by taxi, either arranged by the hotel, taxi agency or individual operators. More on Wikivoyage

TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
