How a month is scored
Every month of the year is ranked on climate, how busy it will be, and the daylight you get. A month too wet or too hot is excluded outright rather than quietly ranked low, and the reason is printed beside it.
How busy a month will be counts the public holidays at both ends of the trip and how often the place's English Wikipedia and Wikivoyage articles are opened on a phone that month against its average month, the middle value of the last ten years (interest, not a count of visitors). A busy month is flagged rather than scored down.
The verdicts are worked out from measured figures, printed beside each one. Destination pages also carry a written season profile, which is labelled where it appears.
