Rain days are the days with at least 1 mm of rain, as a weather station counts them.

Weather read at Palm Beach, 8 km from the airport (AUA): ten years of ERA5 and ERA5-Land reanalysis, through Open-Meteo's open data.

A busy month is a crowded one, not a bad one — usually it is crowded because the weather is good. It is flagged rather than scored down, and crowds alone never make a month “avoid”: that is reserved for weather worth skipping.

How busy it gets

Busiest in March, July and December; quietest in January, April and May.

Getting there

Being there

On arrival

  • Paying — US dollars are widely accepted alongside the Aruban florin, and all major credit cards are taken; change may come in florins.
  • UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
  • Tipping — Not mandatory but appreciated. Some restaurants and bars add about 15% for groups, shared among all staff, so a tip for your server is extra; taxi fares are fixed, but drivers welcome a tip for good service.

Getting around Aruba

Pay $2.60 (AWG 4.50) a trip in cash on Arubus buses, or buy a $5 return ticket or $15 day pass at the Oranjestad bus station booth or some hotel gift shops. Lines 10A, 10B and 10C run along the hotel strip past Palm Beach; carry-on bags only.

  • Apps — Rides: Aruba Taxi App. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Aruba's taxis have no meters and charge fixed fares, so agree the price first; the Aruba Taxi App books licensed taxis and adds a $4 fee a ride.

You can conveniently get around Aruba by car, bus, or by foot. As a tourist, it is not completely necessary to rent a car because many restaurants, beaches, and shopping areas are within walking distance. More on Wikivoyage

TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
