Each cell is that destination's own verdict for the month — sweet spot, ok or avoid — with its typical daily high, from the same ten years of climate readings its page is built from. A dot marks a busy month. The last row counts the sweet spots, and the best months are marked.

On arrival
- Apps — Rides: Bolt, FreeNow, Uber. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Messages: Messenger.
- Paying — Cards work almost everywhere in big cities; some small shops and post offices still want cash. Locals often pay with BLIK, a code from a Polish banking app.
- UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
- Getting around Gdańsk — Tap a contactless bank card, phone or watch on the yellow and black FALA reader in the tram or bus: that buys a single-ride ticket for PLN 4.80, valid on one line, and tapping the same card again ends it. For a 75-minute ticket (PLN 6.00, changes allowed) or a 24-hour one (PLN 22.00), choose it on the touch screen of the machine midway along the vehicle; these devices take no cash, so to pay cash use the machines at stops and scan the paper ticket's QR code on board. Bus 210 links the airport with the city centre and the main railway station in about 40 minutes.
- Getting around Kraków — Buy a ticket from the machine on board (cash or card, as the sign on the door shows), a machine at the stop, a newsagent or an app such as Jakdojade, and validate a paper ticket as you board. A single or 30-minute ticket costs PLN 6.00, 60 minutes PLN 8.00, and 24 hours within the city (zone I) PLN 20.00. From the airport, the SKA1 train runs to Kraków Główny, the main station, for PLN 20; buy the ticket from the machine on the train, by cash or card, or from the conductor.
- Getting around Warsaw — Buy at machines at stops, metro stations, on most buses and in newer trams (coins or card), or in the Jakdojade app; validate paper tickets as you board a bus or tram, or at the metro gates. 24-hour and 3-day tickets exist.
- Tipping — Around 10% in restaurants if you were pleased; no custom of tipping taxi drivers. Saying 'thank you' as you hand over cash means keep the change.
- Emergency — 112 (any emergency) · police 997 · ambulance 999 · fire 998.
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
Put together by hand from the sources listed, checked 7 October 2026. Apps, cards and rules change, so check before you rely on one.

Every verdict here is the destination's own: ten years of climate readings, the public holidays that crowd it, and what the flight costs. Nothing is said about Poland as a whole that was not first measured at each place in it.
