Rain days are the days with at least 1 mm of rain, as a weather station counts them.

Weather read at Hamilton, 12 km from the airport (BDA): ten years of ERA5 and ERA5-Land reanalysis, through Open-Meteo's open data.

A busy month is a crowded one, not a bad one — usually it is crowded because the weather is good. It is flagged rather than scored down, and crowds alone never make a month “avoid”: that is reserved for weather worth skipping.

How busy it gets

Busiest in September and December; quietest in April.

Then and now

Bermuda's August days now average 28.2°C, 1.6°C warmer than in 1981–1990. 12 of 12 months are clearly warmer.

Getting there

Being there

On arrival

  • Paying — Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted almost everywhere, and US dollars are taken at par alongside Bermuda dollars. Most ATMs give only Bermuda dollars; carry cash for taxis, as many drivers prefer it or take nothing else.
  • UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.

Getting around Bermuda

On buses, pay the exact fare in coins (no notes; drivers give no change): $3.50 for up to 3 zones, $5 for longer trips. Tokens and 1- to 7-day passes ($19 for one day) work on buses and ferries: buy them at the Hamilton bus or ferry terminal, the Dockyard and St. George's visitor centres or your hotel, or in the Shorelink app, and show the activated fare as you board.

  • Apps — Rides: HITCH, Journi, Ride.bm. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. There is no Uber; HITCH, Journi and Ride.bm book licensed taxis and, since June 2026, can pass a request no taxi takes to a licensed ride-share car (RS plates) at taxi rates, paid by card in the app.

The islands benefit from a bus service which connects all parts of the islands to Hamilton. The bus is the cheapest way to get around, and it can be a good idea to use it, but it has some negative sides. More on Wikivoyage

Help

  • Emergency — 911 (any emergency).
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
