Rain days are the days with at least 1 mm of rain, as a weather station counts them.

Weather read at Andorra la Vella: ten years of ERA5 and ERA5-Land reanalysis, through Open-Meteo's open data.

A busy month is a crowded one, not a bad one — usually it is crowded because the weather is good. It is flagged rather than scored down, and crowds alone never make a month “avoid”: that is reserved for weather worth skipping.

How busy it gets

Busiest in February, March and July; quietest in November and December.

Then and now

Andorra's February days now average 11.0°C, 4.5°C warmer than in 1981–1990. 10 of 12 months are clearly warmer.

Being there

On arrival

  • Paying — Andorra uses the euro, and other currencies are not usually accepted. Cards are widely taken in shops, hotels and venues, and the banks' ATMs take major debit and credit cards.
  • UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.

Getting around Andorra

There is no airport. Coaches run from Barcelona airport (T1 and T2): Direct Bus, 16 a day, to Andorra la Vella's national bus station in 3 to 3¾ hours, and Andbus, which also runs from Toulouse airport (arrivals, Hall B, door B) and stops across Andorra. National bus lines cost €1.90 to €4.80 a single, by zone: buy on the bus or in the MOU-T-B app.

  • Apps — Rides: CityXerpa, TaxiAndorra. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Taxi fares are set by the government: €3.20 to start, then €1.40 a km on weekdays from 7am to 9pm and €1.65 a km at night, at weekends and on holidays. The TaxiAndorra app books them through the country's single dispatch centre.

If you have a few days in Andorra, then you can easily visit most of the main villages by the local bus service operated by Cooperativa Interurbana Andorrana, S.A. There is a journey planner called Mou-te (iOS, Android). More on Wikivoyage

  • Emergency — police 110 · ambulance 116 · fire 118. For mountain rescue, dial 112.
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.

What Andorra is like

Andorra is a small, mountainous country in Western Europe, up in the Pyrenees between France and Spain. Full of beautiful mountains and charming old villages, the country thrives on tourism, mainly visitors from nearby countries who come for shopping, skiing, hiking, and banking. More on Wikivoyage

Worth seeing
Threatened by seemingly unchecked development, the country's main draw is still its magnificent mountainous landscapes, offering spectacular vistas in every season. More on Wikivoyage
Worth doing
Most of these resorts were once small mountain villages which have grown due to skiing. The resorts have joined together so that your ski pass covers neighbouring areas. More on Wikivoyage
Getting in
Due mainly to the mountainous nature of Andorra, there is only one road entering Andorra from France, and only one widely-used road entering Andorra from Spain. More on Wikivoyage
Staying safe
There is not much threat from other people in Andorra, but keep safe on mountains. Don't go too high without knowing what you are doing. More on Wikivoyage
Staying healthy
The main hospital in Andorra is the Meritxell (pronounced merichai) Hospital (+376 871 000). More on Wikivoyage
