Each cell is that destination's own verdict for the month — sweet spot, ok or avoid — with its typical daily high, from the same ten years of climate readings its page is built from. A dot marks a busy month. The last row counts the sweet spots, and the best months are marked.

On arrival
- Apps — Rides: Bolt, Uber. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Taxi drivers sometimes overcharge visitors: take a licensed, metered taxi showing its company name and price list on the side, check the meter runs at that rate (higher at night and outside the city), and order one through your hotel or an app rather than hailing it in the street.
- Paying — The currency is the leu (RON). Everyday life runs largely on cash, though cards are widely accepted in the big cities. Change euros only at banks, exchange offices or hotels, as changing money in the street is illegal; carry crisp notes, since worn ones may be refused, and use ATMs inside banks or in well-lit public places.
- UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
- Getting around Bucharest — Bus 100 runs round the clock from Henri Coandă airport to Piața Unirii, by way of Piața Victoriei and Piața Romană: every 15 minutes from 6am to 10pm on weekdays (every 20 at weekends) and every 30 minutes at night. On STB's buses, trams and trolleybuses a ride costs 3 lei and lasts 90 minutes, changes included: tap a contactless bank card or phone on a validator marked Visa and Mastercard, or buy an STB card at the airport's ticket machine, which takes cash and cards and issues the card free with two rides on it (a ride that adds the metro costs 7 lei for 120 minutes). For a taxi, order one at the booth in the arrivals hall.
- Tipping — A tip of 5 to 10% is usual in restaurants, cafés and taxis and at hairdressers.
- Emergency — 112 (any emergency).
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
Put together by hand from the sources listed, checked 8 October 2026. Apps, cards and rules change, so check before you rely on one.

Every verdict here is the destination's own: ten years of climate readings, the public holidays that crowd it, and what the flight costs. Nothing is said about Romania as a whole that was not first measured at each place in it.
