Each cell is that destination's own verdict for the month — sweet spot, ok or avoid — with its typical daily high, from the same ten years of climate readings its page is built from. A dot marks a busy month. The last row counts the sweet spots, and the best months are marked.

On arrival
- Apps — Rides: Bolt, Norgestaxi, Uber. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Messages: Messenger.
- Paying — Visa and Mastercard are taken almost everywhere, usually by tapping, and you can go days without cash; Vipps, the local payment app, needs a Norwegian bank account. Staffed shops must still accept cash for sums up to 20,000 kroner.
- UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
- Getting around Oslo — Buy tickets in the Ruter app, or on a travel card (50 kroner) from Narvesen, 7-Eleven or Mix: a zone 1 single costs 46 kroner and lasts 60 minutes, changes included, and a 24-hour ticket 137 kroner. Buses and boats sell dearer singles on board, for cash only; trams and the metro sell none. Ruter tickets for the airport's zones work on Vy's trains to the airport, but Flytoget, the airport express, needs its own ticket.
- Tipping — Not expected: in restaurants round up, and 10% is generous. Taxi drivers do not expect a tip.
- Emergency — police 112 · ambulance 113 · fire 110.
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
Put together by hand from the sources listed, checked 7 October 2026. Apps, cards and rules change, so check before you rely on one.

Every verdict here is the destination's own: ten years of climate readings, the public holidays that crowd it, and what the flight costs. Nothing is said about Norway as a whole that was not first measured at each place in it.
