On arrival
- Apps — Rides: Bolt, Uber. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Messages: Messenger, WhatsApp.
- Paying — Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay work almost everywhere, even for small sums, and many places take no cash. Swish needs a Swedish bank account; some rural cafés and farm shops take only Swish or cash.
- UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
- Getting around Stockholm — Tap a contactless bank card at the gates or the reader on board for a 75-minute single; 24-hour, 72-hour and 7-day passes are in the SL app. No cash on buses.
- Tipping — Not expected; round up, or add 5 to 10% for very good service. Taxi drivers do not expect tips.
- Emergency — 112 (any emergency).
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
Put together by hand from the sources listed, checked 3 October 2026. Apps, cards and rules change, so check before you rely on one.

Every verdict here is the destination's own: ten years of climate readings, the public holidays that crowd it, and what the flight costs. Nothing is said about Sweden as a whole that was not first measured at each place in it.
