On arrival
- Apps — Rides: Bolt, Liftago, Uber. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Messages: WhatsApp, Messenger. Liftago is a Czech app that books licensed Prague taxis.
- Paying — Cards, contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay are widely accepted. Some places take euros, but change comes in koruna, often at a poor rate.
- UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
- Getting around Prague — Buy in the PID Lítačka app (cheapest), or tap a bank card at touchscreen machines at stops or at the terminal on trams and buses. Stamp machine paper tickets before the metro platform or as you board a tram or bus. 24- and 72-hour passes exist.
- Tipping — Round up, or add up to 10% in tourist restaurants, handing it to the server as you pay; it is not normally on the bill and never obligatory.
- Emergency — 112 (any emergency).
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
Put together by hand from the sources listed, checked 3 October 2026. Apps, cards and rules change, so check before you rely on one.

Every verdict here is the destination's own: ten years of climate readings, the public holidays that crowd it, and what the flight costs. Nothing is said about Czechia as a whole that was not first measured at each place in it.
