On arrival
- Apps — Rides: Cabify, DiDi, inDrive, Uber. Maps: Google Maps, Apple Maps. Messages: WhatsApp.
- Paying — Cards, now mostly contactless, are accepted by chains and many shops. Carry some pesos for small places and for restaurant tips, which are usually left in cash.
- UPI, for visitors from India — Not accepted for paying here; bring a card that works abroad.
- Getting around Buenos Aires — Use a SUBE card on buses, trains and the Subte. Buses also take debit and credit cards, and the Subte takes a tapped Visa or Mastercard bank card or phone, foreign cards included.
- Tipping — About 10% in restaurants, often left in cash even when paying by card; taxi drivers do not expect a tip.
- Emergency — police 911 or 101 · ambulance 107 · fire 100.
TravelCharika is not an emergency service: we cannot call for help or send anyone. Numbers can change; if one fails, ask someone local or your hotel.
Put together by hand from the sources listed, checked 3 October 2026. Apps, cards and rules change, so check before you rely on one.

Every verdict here is the destination's own: ten years of climate readings, the public holidays that crowd it, and what the flight costs. Nothing is said about Argentina as a whole that was not first measured at each place in it.
